Arctic Sea Ice Hits Record Lows Off Alaska

While ice is growing in some parts of the Arctic, a mix of warm Pacific water and fierce storms has stunted sea ice growth off Alaska. “We’ve never seen anything quite like this before,” said Mark Serreze, the director of the National Snow and Ice Data Center. “There’s just a hell of a lot of heat there.”
