By studying a 50,000- to 70,000-year-old cypress forest on the ocean floor off the coast of Alabama, scientists are learning what happens during periods of climate change. They say the information about the ecosystems could be useful to states like Louisiana that are dealing with rapid coastal land loss from sea level rise.
