The oil executives who dominate a U.S. Interior Department committee urged the Trump administration to slash the royalty rates their companies pay for natural gas and oil extracted through offshore drilling. They want the 18.75 percent rate, established by the Bush administration, cut by a third, to 12.5 percent.
