The number of Americans exposed to serious flooding risk is about three times higher than Federal Emergency Management Agency estimates, according to a new study. Researchers estimate that more than 16 percent of Americans and $10 trillion in assets will be located in floodplains by 2100. Louisiana, Arizona, West Virginia and Florida are especially exposed.
