Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan said that it is his hope to have the first oil and gas leasing sale in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in 2019, calling it a “very aggressive timeline.” Under the new tax law changes, the Interior Department must hold a lease sale by 2021 and another by 2024, with at least 400,000 acres available each time.
