On March 20, the federal government is scheduled to auction off almost 41,000 acres in southeast Utah to oil and gas companies—sites that are some of the most archaeologically rich parcels ever offered for industrial use. The auction puts at risk ancient buildings, vessels, petroglyphs and roads.
