A federal judge has ruled that lawsuits filed by three California cities and counties seeking to hold oil companies accountable for their contribution to climate change will be heard in California state court, which is generally seen as more favorable to the communities. That contrasts with a different federal judge’s order that two similar city lawsuits remain in federal court.
