Aengus Kennedy will give an illustrated talk in the Town Hall Ramelton at 7 p.m.on Tuesday October 2nd. The talk will describe the many species of birds, big and small, that depend on Lough Swilly for their survival over the winter. Many of our summer breeders have departed, now it is time to welcome and enjoy our winter visitors.

Everyone is welcome, admission is free, no need to book. Suitable for all age groups.

Aengus Kennedy will give an illustrated talk in the Town Hall Ramelton at 7 p.m. next Tuesday October 2nd. The talk will describe the many species of birds, big and small, that depend on Lough Swilly for their survival over the winter. The Lough and its hinterland is an internationally important location for a great variety of birds who are escaping the harsh winters to the north and east of us.
Bird migration has fascinated people for millennia. And now science is unravelling the mystery, revealing that the birds’ journeys are more amazing than we had thought. Autumn signifies all change for our bird populations with many of our summer breeders departed it is time to welcome and enjoy our winter visitors.

Aengus Kennedy, Nature NorthWest, is a Donegal nature guide of many years’ experience, a knowledgeable and entertaining guest on Highland Radio and a frequent visitor to national schools for nature talks and promoting Green Schools.
This talk is organised by the Donegal Association of An Taisce. It is part of a series of walks and talks that are supported by a grant from Donegal County Council under its Wildlife Awareness Initiative.
