Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke submitted his resignation over the weekend amid multiple ethics investigations into his actions, including one referred to the Justice Department involving a land deal with the chairman of oil services giant Halliburton. As Interior secretary, Zinke championed the repeal of Obama-era environmental rules and worked to open up large areas of federal land for oil and gas prospecting.
