Can Europe Wean Itself From Fossil Fuels? Its Leaders Are About to Decide

Leaders from all 28 countries of the European Union are in Brussels this week, meeting to decide whether the EU will set a target to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The proposal would have to receive unanimous approval. Several EU countries, including Britain, Sweden, Finland, and Norway have already set their own emissions goals.
