“We have actually, with today’s action, taken more steps to reduce CO2 emissions than the Obama administration,” EPA head Andrew Wheeler said during an announcement this week that the U.S. was proposing to regulate aviation emissions for the first time. But the airline industry already adopted those standards four years ago and Wheeler’s statement was, at best, highly misleading.
