Facing a possible defeat in the presidential race as battleground states inch closer to their final ballot counts, President Trump on Thursday ousted the nation’s top energy regulator, in part, over moves by the agency’s chairman to look into a national carbon pricing scheme. James Danly will replace Neil Chatterjee as chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in June 2021.
