A Lobbyist Helped Plan Scott Pruitt’s Morocco Trip. Then Morocco Hired the Lobbyist.

EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt allowed a lobbyist friend to play an unusually influential role in planning his December trip to Morocco, including participating in meetings with Pruitt and industry representatives there, The New York Times reports citing internal communications and trip participants. It says the lobbyist, Richard Smotkin, was then hired by the Moroccan government for $40,000 a month.
