Alaska Orders Review of All North Slope Oil Wells After Spill Linked to Permafrost

Oil and gas regulators in Alaska ordered a review of all North Slope wells after one of BP’s oil and gas wells spilled last spring when it buckled under pressure from thawing permafrost and an outer casing cracked. Other companies were told to shut down any with the same construction.
