Despite complications due to coronavirus, the Netherlands is moving forward with a bold set of new climate policies aimed at reducing the country’s annual carbon emissions by nearly 10 megatons. The move follows a landmark ruling last year from the country’s top court that forces the Dutch government to reduce emissions to 25 percent below 1990 levels by the end of 2020.
