Despite being in bankruptcy, FirstEnergy Solutions has paid at least $230,000 this year to a Washington lobbying firm to push for a coal plant bailout from the Trump administration. It’s part of a larger push by to secure subsidies that would help prevent the closing of coal and nuclear plants.
