China Is a Climate Leader but Still Isn’t Doing Enough on Emissions, Report Says

China, the world’s top emitter of carbon dioxide and major consumer of coal, has been aggressive in developing its clean-energy economy and become a world leader in solar power and electric cars. But if its emissions continue at their current pace, the world will find it harder to meet important climate policy goals, according to a Columbia University report.
