Colorado’s Mountain Snowpack Shrinks to 66% of Normal, Sounding Drought Alarm

With Colorado’s mountain snowpack at 66 percent of normal, drought is now covering almost a quarter of the state. The state is scrambling to secure water supplies. “There’s going to be people without water. It’s going to be a tight year,” said Brian Domonkos, U.S. Department of Agriculture snow survey supervisor.
