Fijians to engage in climate change activities

Minister for Local Government Parveen Kumar will reveal the climate change adaptation program in the next two weeks.
Bala says strengthening the ability of all Fijians to engage in climate change activities is vital.
“I am going to formally announce what are some of the activities the municipal councils will take on and there’s a few councils who have already undertaken on these projects and we’re going to work with NGO’s. But now we want to go into detail and we want to be really serious about these projects that we undertake because the ministry officials will oversee all these projects and review will be carried out for all municipal council.”
He says with climate change effects becoming visible every day, Fijians should be committed to supporting good adaptation practices, urging the public to assist their respective municipal councils.
