Massachusetts consumers would save about $1.4 billion over 20 years from the first commercial-scale offshore wind farm in the country. The developers of the Vineyard Wind project, Avangrid Inc. and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, say they will provide power and renewable energy credits for 6.5 cents per kilowatt hour, which is a savings compared to other electricity sources and lower than officials had expected.
