The Government Accountability Office is looking into the role EPA political appointees played in choosing scientists and committee members for 22 advisory boards that guide the agency on science, health and air quality. Last year, administrator Scott Pruitt barred anyone who received EPA research grants from being on the committees and replaced some with industry-friendly people.
