Gassy Cows Warm the Planet. Scientists Think They Know How to Squelch the Belch

Livestock account for 14.5 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions, with over half coming from the methane-rich belches from cattle. A group of scientists just won an award for figuring out how to potentially breed less-gassy cows by changing the microbes that live in their stomachs.
