Researchers who have piecing together the impacts of past warm periods in Earth’s history say climate models appear to be underestimating the impact of climate change now. They found 1 to 2 degrees of warming was accompanied by substantial reductions of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets and sea level rise higher than currently forecast.
