A group of researchers say they’ve reduced the uncertainty in estimating how much Earth’s average surface temperature will go up if the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is doubled. Their new calculation narrows the range from between 1.5 and 4.5 degrees Celsius to between 2.2 to 3.4 degrees.
