Extreme heat has damaged the wheat crop across Northern Europe, leading to soaring prices and fears of additional crop damage. This year’s soft wheat harvest in the EU, collectively the world’s largest wheat grower, is projected to be below 130 million tonnes, a six-year low. “The situation is catastrophic,” Strategie Grains head analyst Andree Defois said.
