Help for contaminated groundwater: Dioxane-chomping microbe
Researchers have discovered a bacteria-borne gene that triggers the degradation of dioxane, a groundwater contaminant and suspected carcinogen. The discovery could lead to a tool that helps decide how to treat contaminated sites.
The extremely rare cave-dwelling albino fish with no eyes, the Mexican blindcat, has previously only been known to exist in Mexico.
