Rising temperatures in the Gulf of Maine and Bay of Fundy off New Brunswick have crashed the cod population, a mainstay of the local fishing industry. Scientists also say that overfishing, acidifying waters and invasive species are threatening the region’s ecosystems and changing fishing and tourism industries.
