The 2020 Atlantic hurricane season has truly been one for the record books. With 28 named storms, it is currently tied with 2005 for the most storms in a single season. And of those 28 storms this year, 25 formed earlier in the year when compared to their 2005 counterparts, Scientific American reports, as climate change makes extreme weather more frequent and intense.
