A new study found that if carbon dioxide levels double, the Earth’s global average temperature will most likely increase between 4.1 and 8.1 degrees Fahrenheit—a higher range than previously projected. The consequences of this level of warming would lead to severe sea level rise, heat waves and extreme weather.
