Michigan Attorney General Calls for Shutting Down Oil Pipelines Beneath Lakes Huron, Michigan

Republican Attorney General Bill Schuette called for shutting down two oil pipelines that run beneath the Straits of Mackinac on the grounds that they threaten ecology and tourism in the region. Environmental groups have long wanted the pipelines decommissioned, but a Canadian oil company insists they’re in good shape.
