More Than 60 Democrats Ask Feds to Reconsider Tongass Logging Plan

In a letter, 60 Democratic lawmakers asked Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue to reconsider a plan to open previously protected parts of the Tongass National Forest to logging. Last month, the U.S. Forest Service unveiled a final environmental impact statement, the last step in a process to remove Clinton-era protections on the nation’s largest woodland.
