New research indicates that Asia was the most underperforming continent in meeting a global target to protect 17 percent of land by 2020. Results indicate that longer-term targets will be missed by an even greater amount. Ahead of COP15, researchers make key recommendations for policy makers to support Asian countries to meet 2030 biodiversity targets.
