No Power Grid Emergency to Justify Coal Bailout, Federal Regulators Say

Members of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission told Congress that they see no national security emergency that would justify subsidizing coal and nuclear power plants the way the Trump administration is proposing. Most of the FERC commissioners were appointed by President Trump.
