Ohio utility FirstEnergy has fired its chief executive officer Chuck Jones due to the investigation of a recent bribery scandal involving Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder. The Republican lawmaker was charged with taking more than $60 million from FirstEnergy in exchange for passing a nuclear bailout, and FirstEnergy said Jones had violated the company’s code of conduct policies.
