In a region that has gotten no relief during this hurricane season, Louisiana is moving forward with coastal restoration projects just east of New Orleans that will restore habitat and create a natural defense against storm surges. Funded in part by BP, the $114.7 million projects will create 3,000 acres of marshland on the state’s coastline.
