Scott Pruitt’s $43,000 Soundproof Phone Booth Violated Spending Laws, Federal Watchdog Finds

The Government Accountability Office said today that EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt violated federal spending laws when he had a $43,000 soundproof phone booth installed in his office. The GAO said that Pruitt failed to notify Congress he was exceeding the $5,000 limit for office furnishings and that “EPA obligated appropriated funds in a manner specifically prohibited by law.”
