Tens of Thousands of Deaths Linked to Weak U.S. Air Pollution Rules, Study Says

The nation’s air pollution rules could be hugely insufficient in preventing deaths, experts are concluding from a new study of the likely causes of death of 4.5 million veterans. The study found that 99 percent of deaths from illnesses linked to a certain type of air pollution occurred at lower levels of exposure deemed acceptable by the EPA.
