Trump Admin. Overrides Endangered Species Protections for Water Firefighters Say They Don’t Need

The Trump administration has ordered NOAA to take over water management in parts of California, says the water should be prioritized for wildfire response and not endangered species protections, even though state officials say they have enough water to fight the fires. The NRDC’s Kate Poole called the move “nothing more than a smokescreen” to weaken endangered species protections.
