UN Report: Despite Falling Energy Demand, Governments Set on Increasing Fossil Fuel Production

The world’s top energy producing countries are planning to expand their fossil fuel output to levels that would send temperatures soaring past international climate goals, a new United Nations report says. In order to meet the Paris climate accord target of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, fossil fuel production has to fall sharply by 2030, the report says.
