United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday delivered a mostly hopeful state of the planet speech, saying that he is seeing a “new world take shape,” led by millions of young people “pushing their elders to do what is right” on climate change. Still, Guterres noted the climate crisis is getting worse and called for an end to humanity’s “suicidal” war on nature.
