Xcel Energy plans to close two-coal fired power plants in Colorado, and the company’s CEO says the days are likely numbered for the rest of its coal fleet. Excel, which serves parts of eight states, submitted a plan this week to Colorado regulators that would dramatically expand wind and solar.
