Death Valley Posts Hottest Month Ever Recorded on Earth, for the Second July in a Row

California’s Death Valley had an average temperature of 108.1 degrees in July, over both day and night, breaking the record it set the prior year for the hottest month ever measured on the planet. The record puts an exclamation mark on a month in which record-high temperatures have fallen on every continent in the Northern Hemisphere.
