China may take steps to reduce pollution in the smog-prone Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region during the upcoming winter, according to a draft plan. This would be the second year the country has forced heavy industries to shut part of their output capacity in the winter in order to slash the release of dangerous particulate matter, part of the government’s efforts to improve air quality.
