Occidental Petroleum’s CEO told the Financial Times she wants her oil company to eventually be “carbon neutral.” The No. 5 U.S. oil company by market value is looking at ways to capture greenhouse gases that are equivalent to the emissions of its operations, but it’s doubtful this would include offsetting the carbon released when customers burn the company’s products.
