The official NOAA press release that went out this week announcing the 2016 U.S. greenhouse gas emissions states that emissions rose 40 percent from 1990 to 2016, but unlike past releases, it does not mention the role of human activities in climate change. InsideClimate News wrote about the same data in early June, when it was posted online.
