Companies are buying more renewable energy. As of August, non-utility buyers had announced contracts for more than 3.5 gigawatts of renewable energy projects in 2018 to date, setting a new single-year record in the U.S., GreenTech Media reports. A lot of the growth is coming from first-time corporate renewable energy buyers, analysts said.
