ExxonMobil said on Thursday it’s eyeing to cut 14,000 jobs, or about 15 percent of its global workforce, as the Covid-19 pandemic batters energy demand and prices. The cuts come as Exxon and other oil producers slash costs due to collapsing oil demand and ill-timed bets on new projects. By summer, Exxon had already lost nearly $2 billion despite dramatic cuts in spending, our own reporting found.
