Treasury Dept. Rules Some Groups Don’t Have to Report Big Donors

Under a new ruling from the Treasury Department, some groups—including the Koch brothers-associated Americans for Prosperity, the NRA and chambers of commerce—will no longer have to report the names of donors who give them $5,000 or more. Robert Maguire of the Center for Responsive Politics said the change allows “dark money” to flex its political muscle.
