To keep the planet from warming more than 1.5 degrees Celsius, it’s not enough to just cut emissions, the IPCC says. We’ll also have to figure out how to remove some of the carbon dioxide that’s already been emitted. Of the options considered, the solution the IPCC found most promising involves soil.
