When a SpaceX Falcon Heavy spacecraft blasts off into space, it burns about 400 metric tons of kerosene and emits more carbon-dioxide in a few minutes than an average car would in more than two centuries. That fact is stoking concerns about the climate impact of space exploration, and it’s about to get worse.
